A PLACE TO BELONG

The Church at the Butte is A Place to Belong. Whether you are a community leader, business owner, retired senior, single adult, or a young family you can find A Place to Belong with us.

Together, we are making a difference in our community through The Shepherd’s Closet, Meals on Wheels, All-Stars for children, WIRED for youth and Legacy for seniors. We also help support church planters throughout the United States, thousands of missionaries in approximately 200 countries.

Several of our members make trips to our mission church in Mexico to support them and strengthen their service. We participate with Franklin Graham’s  Operation Christmas Child. This ministry distributes gift-filled shoe boxes to children throughout the world, demonstrating that people matter to God.

Drop in on a Sunday morning just after nine o’clock for Coffee and Conversation. Then stay for Sunday Morning Worship at ten o’clock. Pick up some brochures and make a couple of new friends. You may discover A Place to Belong sooner than you think.

Sermon 7/11/2021

Sunday Sermon 7/11/2021

The Good Shepherd and His Sheep

The blindness and ungodliness of any culture does not prevent Jesus from manifesting the presence of God in that culture.

Jesus is the only way of salvation and thus the only hope we have.

Jesus is both the way to salvation and the source of salvation.

Jesus is the _______: John 10:1-10

Jesus is the Door to:

Intimacy with God

Isaiah 43:1

Guidance from God

Isaiah 52:12

Provision through God

Psalm 23:1-2

Salvation by God

Acts 4:12

Anyone who does not enter by Jesus the Door is a thief and robber.

The thief comes to:

Steal – steal your joy – Nehemiah 8:10

Kill – kill your hope – Psalm 42:5

Destroy your lives – Psalm 119:95

Jesus as our Door gives us abundant life not just existence.

We receive abundant life and salvation as we enter through Jesus the Door because we come to know Jesus as the Good Shepherd.

Jesus is the _______________: John 10:11-18

Verses 11-15: Jesus as the Good Shepherd lays down His life for the sheep.

1 Peter 3:18

2 Corinthians 5:21

2 Corinthians 5:17

Verses 17-18: Jesus as the Good Shepherd takes His life up again.

Matthew 16:21

Luke 24:5-7

Verse 16: Jesus as the Good Shepherd brings unity to His sheep.

Ephesians 2:14-16

Galatians 3:28

Verses 19-21: Conclusion

A division arises over Jesus

Jesus is either a liar or a lunatic or Lord

His teachings and miracles testify to the truth that He is Lord.

Hebrews 9:27-28

If Jesus is Lord of your life that brings life.

If Jesus is not Lord of your life that brings judgment.

Is Jesus the Good Shepherd of your life?
