Sermon 12/25/2022

Sunday Sermon 12/25/2022

The Cradle Leads to the Cross

Two life changing events: Birth, Death

Birth always leads to death

Jesus experienced both

Jesus’ birth: Luke 2:1-20

We like to keep Jesus as a baby because:

Babies are not dangerous

Babies do not challenge our beliefs

Babies can be controlled

The cradle is empty!

Jesus’ death: Matthew 27:45-51 & John 19:28-30

Jesus’ death was:

Painful

Bloody

Disturbing

Jesus’ death gives meaning and purpose to:

His life

Our lives

The cradle must lead to the cross

Because of sin

Hebrews 9:22

1 Peter 1:18-19

Because of righteousness

Romans 3:10

Romans 3:20-22

Because of God’s desire

2 Peter 3:9

1 John 1:7

Because Jesus wants to be our friend

Colossians 1:21

John15:13-14

Jesus was born to be our Savior: Matthew 1:21

Jesus died to be your Savior: 1 John 2:2

Jesus rose to be your Lord: Colossians 2:6

Jesus is returning to be our King: Revelation 19:16

The cradle is empty

The cross is empty

The tomb is empty

Jesus is alive!

This Christmas make sure that Jesus is your Savior, Lord, ad King
